The hotel is beautifully located near the train station, making it easy to explore York. While the room was clean and had a stunning view, noise from outside was disturbing, and the breakfast left much to be desired. Overall, a lovely stay despite a few drawbacks.

A solid location near the train station and just a short stroll to the town center offers convenience. The spacious rooms in the annex provide a nice, private feel without the noise from main building traffic.
My room temperature felt like a desert, and stained carpets detracted from the otherwise comfortable setting. Breakfast choices left me wishing for something more than just a limited buffet, akin to what you'd find in a budget hotel. Dinner service lagged, with half-warm meals that missed the mark for the price—certainly not what you'd expect for a top-tier hotel. the parking situation is tricky. if a conference is on, expect a hunt for a spot, and it can feel a bit precarious lugging luggage from an overflow lot at night. just keep your head on straight and manage expectations, and you might find it serviceable.

The lack of air conditioning is a real concern!!! It made for an uncomfortable night. the limited parking availability led to unnecessary hassle when trying to find a space!!!

The hotel is stunning, with beautiful gardens and elegant decor. I loved the room amenities, especially the cozy tuck box with snacks. The large shower felt luxurious, perfect after a long day exploring historic York. Staff were friendly, particularly at the bar, where the atmosphere was lively. check-in lacked efficiency, taking longer than expected despite being only slightly late. The room was a bit small, and I faced issues with a noisy fan and an uncomfortable bed. Room cleanliness could also be better, as I noticed cobwebs in multiple areas. Despite these issues, the location made it easy to reach all attractions, and the breakfast selection was decent.

The hotel was spacious and well-decorated, which suited my family of seven kids perfectly. We enjoyed the beautiful outdoor walks along the River Ouse, and it provided a fun way for the kids to explore while actually being close to the hotel. The staff were friendly.
In my wife’s opinion, the kids wished for a wider breakfast selection, especially for less expensive drinks. The coffee charges felt steep, and a more family-friendly option would be appreciated to keep everyone happy.

Couples getaway – decent stay
The room was very comfortable, clean and quiet, perfect for a peaceful escape. We really appreciated the little touches, like the mini fridge stocked with drinks and treats, made it feel special.
Wasn't exactly a bargain, but for what we got, I'd call it fair enough.

Location within walking distance to York Minster and the scenic River Ouse impressed me. The luxurious bathrooms featured high-quality Elemis toiletries, creating a comfortable atmosphere for relaxation.
However, I encountered several inconveniences that took away from the experience. The dining options left much to be desired. both breakfast and dinner were excessively overpriced for the quality, and the buffet-style breakfast led to long queues and cold food. My room, although spacious, had water pressure issues in the shower and a lack of basic comforts that typically come with a superior room. Additionally, the noise from events like weddings carried into the room, disrupting the peace, particularly noticeable late at night. Lastly, parking at £15 per day felt steep, especially given the competition for spaces.

The Edwardian ambiance and well-maintained gardens offered a lovely setting, and the pool and spa facilities were fantastic. However, the room itself was cramped, and the bathroom cleanliness left much to be desired. Service in the restaurant was disorganized, leading to confusion with our orders and a chaotic breakfast experience.

Had a fantastic time with my friends! The hotel was in a great spot and we even enjoyed some lovely walks along the River Ouse. The rooms were cozy and the breakfast buffet was a hit. Pro tip, parking is £15/day and fills up fast, so get there early if you're driving!
However, we were disappointed that we had to book in advance to use the pool. It would’ve been great to have easier access after a long day exploring.
